On this date in 1502, Christopher Columbus landed on the island of Martinique in the Caribbean.   It was his fourth and last trip to the New World.   The genius still thought he was near India.  He hopped around to many of the Caribbean islands and went over to Central America and down to Panama before heading home. His ships were damaged by storms and he was stranded for over a year on Jamaica and didn't reach Cadiz, Spain until November, 1504.

On this date in 1947, my sister, Sharon, was born.  Happy Birthday, Kid.
