WHEN I WAS A KID

When I was a kid, I never had a key to our house.  I never had one all the time I lived their - over twenty years.  At first, you may think this is not surprising but almost every young person has a house key these days.  I didn't need one.

I'm not sure if that is because one of my parents was ALWAYS home or we just didn't lock our doors.  If that was the case, they changed a lot over the years.  When my Dad died, I found that they had three locks on the front door.  I suppose older people do not feel as safe as they did when they were younger.  Be nice to older people.
