On this date in 1960, the United States imposed a complete embargo on trade with Cuba.  Fidel Castro's forces had taken control of the island in 1959 after a revolution of several years.  He deposed the previous president and sent him into exile.  In his first year as president, Castro executed thousands of supporters of the previous regime and legalized the communist party.  The island became a pawn of the Soviet Union (Russia).

Now, with no change in the Cuban government, BHO has decided to drop those embargoes and normalize relations.  The price of Cuban cigars should plummet.
