This is one that surprised me years ago when I discovered it and it still does. For those of you who know a little bit about geography but who are directionally-challenged, be aware that Washington D.C. is east of Cincinnati and Indianapolis, Indiana is west of Cincinnati. I can't get over the fact that the Panama Canal is east of Cincinnati . . . and so is much of South America. It just doesn't seem right.
