LET'S NECK

Did you know that you have the same number of bones in your neck as a giraffe?   Seven is the lucky number.  Of course, that assumes you're not a bonehead.  Boneheads have eight, I presume.

Owls, on the other hand, have 14 neck bones.  They really can't swivel their heads 360 degrees (all the way around).  It's more like 270 degrees.  Their eyes are fixed in place.  They can only look straight ahead so, to look at something different, they must move their head.

Giraffes use their necks for fighting - scientists actually call it necking.  Personally, I don't give a hoot, but owls do!
