RIDING AROUND

Were you wondering why I hadn't mentioned le Tour de France this year?  Did you think I gave up on it?  The answer is a resounding, "No!"  I watched all 21 stages, 3-4 hours most days.  It intrigues me.  I think it is a great sporting event - like no other I know of.

Were you wondering what happened to my softball entry last Saturday?  Did you think I gave up on it?  The answer is a resounding, "No!"  Last Friday was the opening round of our playoffs.  We finished the league tied for first and were seeded number one via a coin flip.  We squashed the last place team to move to the second round this coming Friday.  I was there, but did not play.  I just can't run with the injury.  I coached third and I drank a lot of beer afterwards. I'm still involved in the important parts of the game.

Were you wondering if I watched the Republican National Convention last week?  I didn't.  Hardly a minute or two.  I wish I didn't think politics were so important.  Most of it is revolting.  Don't expect that I will watch the Democrat National Convention this week.  I wont . . .  unless I get word that something spectacular is happening.
