SUNDAY SERVICE

Luke's gospel passage which will be read this Sunday is a call for commitment . . . complete commitment.  It's a good lesson for all of our lives and a necessary lesson to reach everlasting life.

An athlete must completely commit himself to reaching his personal and team goals.  Halfway will never work.  Training, study, practice and perseverance are necessary and must be committed.  Go all the way.

A contractor must completely commit himself to building a project or it will never be completed. A halfway commitment will never work.  All the money, tools, materials, equipment and work must be committed or the building will be incomplete or half-assed complete.

All workers should be completely committed to their jobs.  That's the best way to get ahead; to reach your goals. Halfway will not get you where you want to be.

Each of us must commit ourselves to following Jesus . . . complete commitment.  Halfway will never work.  Just Sunday is not enough.
