SUNDAY SERVICE

Tomorrow, at Catholic services, you will hear stories about the afterlife.  In the famous passage from
Maccabees, a mother and her seven sons were captured by their enemies.  They allowed themselves to be tortured and killed because of their beliefs; they refused to do what their captors had ordered because they believed in life after death and that it was more important than their present life.

In the passage from Luke's Gospel, some doubters were trying to trap Jesus by asking about what would happen in the afterlife in circumstances involving remarriage - who would be with whom. Jesus told them not to think of the afterlife like you think of this life.  Everything will be different. What you think is important on Earth will not be important in heaven.  Don't worry about what it's like - just go for it.

WISH A HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MICHELLE TODAY!
