WHEN I WAS A KID
Today is Veterans Day. My dad was a veteran of World War II. I am a veteran of the Vietnam War. When I was a kid, we didn't pay any special attention to this holiday that I can remember. Dad never belonged to any veterans organizations and I never really did either though I paid dues to the VFW for a few years.
The one great thing I can say about today is that veterans are treated a lot better in 2016 than they were in 1967.
