WHEN I WAS A KID

When I was a kid, I didn't know that I couldn't see . . . see well, that is.  I never had an eye examination until I went into the military.  They discovered I had a severe problem.  I was lucky to make it through high school before the effects took their toll on me.

I trust this would never happen these days.  I'm not sure but I assume all kids are being tested regularly.  If not, don't hesitate.  Not all problems are easily recognizable.  It takes more than a chart topped with big "E".  One's eyes and brain can compensate for some problems - for a time.  Don't wait.
