SPORTS OF ALL SORTS - CINCINNATI

👉The Reds first spring training game is tomorrow.   The season starts in four weeks.  Can Bronson Arroyo make this team?  👍Big change coming in baseball this year - intentional walks will be called from the dugout.  No longer will a pitcher have to throw four wide pitches.  It's all about speeding up the game.

👉Besides our division rivals, the Bengals have home games next year against Detroit, Buffalo, Houston, Chicago and Indianapolis.  Away games on the schedule include Denver, Green Bay, Minnesota, Tennessee and Jacksonville.  I would say this schedule is easier than last year.

👉Last week in college basketball:  Mick Cronin won his 300th game as a head coach.  Bob Huggins collapsed during a game when his internal defibrillator fired up.  👎Chris Mack is searching for help off of his bench but can't find enough.   March 12 is "Selection Sunday" - WooHoo!

👉FC Cincinnati -  our super successful first-year soccer team which has applied for inclusion into the top league in the land - taught the rest of the local teams a good lesson this week - it fired it's coach. We don't know the exact reason at this point but, maybe, making the playoffs just wasn't good enough.

👉UC basketball will play it's home games next year at Northern Kentucky University while 5th/3rd Arena is being updated to the tune of $87 million.  👍UC football seems to have had a very successful recruiting year under new head coach Luke Fickell. - 23 signees, 10 from Ohio.
