RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

3/28/2017

DID YOU KNOW THAT . . .

. . . spiders eat more meat in a day than all humans eat put together?  Are you scared or afraid of them?

. . . I've heard some people use the word ascared?  It is not a word at all but a combination of scared and afraid.

. . . Mosul, Iraq is the second largest city in that country?  It is about the size of Cincinnati, Ohio with about 1.5 million people included in the suburban area.  Iraqi forces have been fighting IS forces there for months.  The whole city is being turned to rubble.  The U.S. is now sending 200 more "military advisers" there to assist the Iraqis.  A story is brewing that we killed hundreds of civilians with an air raid the other day.

. . . the average woman uses her height in lipstick every five years?  I'm sure the housewives of Orange County are above average.

. . . Pete Rose will be 76 on April 14th.

. . . when you write French, you use guillemets ( «  » ) instead of quotation marks and spaces are left around them and punctuation marks; e.g. "Hello!" becomes « Bonjour ! ».  When writing numbers, commas replace decimal points and spaces replace commas; e.g. 1,205.2 becomes 1 205,2

. . . the Grand Canyon is 277 miles long,  between 4 and 18 miles wide and, in some places, over 6,000 feet deep.

. . .  I'm into my fifth day of babysitting my grandson's leopard Gecko.  Pray that it doesn't die before next weekend.  Also, pray I find his crickets that are loose in my house.
