WHEN I WAS A KID

When I was a kid, we didn't worry about tornadoes.  They didn't happen around here - southwestern Ohio and Ohio River valley, that is.

They were just something were heard about in school.  We didn't have tornado alert practice.  They just didn't happen around here.  Tornadoes occurred in Tornado alley - Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas.

Then, in the 1960s, things changed.  Weather runs in cycles.  Just deal with it.
