SYNCHRONICITY

This is a tale of synchronicity that my family is aware of - and it may only be of interest to my family - but I'm going to write it for record anyway.  This is the way the story goes.

I have a grandson, Andrew who just graduated from Mariemont High School.  He will attend the University of Cincinnati next year.  He played basketball and lacrosse for his school.

Incoming freshman at UC, probably like many other schools, have the option of picking their roommate(s).  One way of doing that is from a list of bios of other incoming students.  If you find one that seems to have similar interests, you can contact that person and see if you 'hit it off' and want to select each other to room with in a dorm.  Andrew and a guy from Toledo St. Francis de Sales High School chatted and they agreed to room together.  His name is Nick Provenza.

Fast forward to Wednesday of this week.  Andrew's Mariemont lacrosse team played and won their state tournament semi-final game and now play Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan University in Columbus for the Div II State championship (they defeated one of the Div I finalists during the regular season).

Who do they play?  You guessed it.  Nick Provenza's Toledo St. Francis team won the same night in northern Ohio.  In fact, Nick plays attack and scored the winning goal for his team in overtime. Andrew is a defensive specialist middie.  The two have never met in person but likely will go against each other face to face at some point in that game.  One of the two will have to listen to the other brag for a long year or more.

Now you know what synchronicity is.
