SUNDAY LITURGY

This weekend we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost.  Pentecost is the event, the day Jesus gave us the gift that He and the Father had promised.  That gift is the Holy Spirit.

He came to the Apostles with a great noise like wind of a tornado.  It was so loud a crowd gathered outside the house in which they were hiding.   The Spirit not only took the fear from their hearts but gave them the gift of tongues.  To top off the day, Jesus told them that they now had the right to guide the development of His Church.  They were to show others 'the way'.  They could make rules, decide what was sinful and what was not, and forgive sins in His name.  This was the day His church was founded.

Rejoice!
