WEEKEND LITURGY

If you had been a sports fan like me and watched many hours of it on TV for the last 60 years, you would have often seen a sign in the stands that said, "John 3:16".   Many have blazoned this epitaph on cardboard for all to see.   There may be any no more famous line of Scripture than this. . . and for good reason.  It sums up Christianity.

This weekend we will read John 3:16.  It is translated in nearly that same words in every version of the Bible.  It's meaning cannot be misunderstood.  "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

It is God's promise.  Believe!
