WEEKEND LITURGY

ISAIAH 55:6-9     PSALM 145     PHILIPPIANS 1:20-27     MATTHEW 20:1-16

The readings as a group this week say different things but can be boiled down to "God's ways are not our ways"  or  "Just because you think it's fair doesn't mean God thinks that way" or from Isaiah "...as high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are My ways above your ways and my thoughts above your thoughts."

Matthews gospel relates another parable Jesus spoke to his followers.  It is the one where a landowner paid workers, who started at all times of the day, the same wage.  Those who started earlier were upset that those who started later got the same money.  Yes, it seems unfair to us but we think with the mind of humans.  Don't get hung up on what seems fair to us.

Our answer is to trust God; to have faith in God.  The challenge is to learn more about God every day.
To know Him is to love Him.
