On this date, 99 years ago, President Woodrow Wilson set sail for Versailles, France and the peace talks ending World War I. That's right, he went by ship - trans-Atlantic air travel had not yet arrived. His trip marked the first time a U.S. President traveled to Europe while in office. Wow!
1918 seems like such a long time ago but it's not, really. My dad was born in 1920 and all my grandparents in the 1800s. Things happen so much more quickly, today. It's probably the greatest change of my lifetime - the pace of play.
