This weekend we hear Luke's beautiful account of Mary learning that she is to be the mother of a son and that she should call him Jesus. Amazing stuff for a young girl who had never been with a man. The story ends with her words spoken to the bearer of that news; "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your words."
We all get the urge to do something extra-ordinarily good from time to time. It's like someone talking to us in our mind. The next time that happens, remember this story . . . and say "Yes."
