TEEN DEATH RATES

I've done a lot of searching for info on deaths to teens by firearms since the tragedy in Parkland, Florida.  I'm not sure what to make of it all.  It is not all that clear.  Try this on.

In the U.S, the chances of a teen dying in some kind of accident are as great as all other causes of death put together.  75% of all accidents involve an auto and one third of all teen deaths involve auto accidents.

In the U.S., if a teenager is killed and is the victim of a firearm, there is a good chance the victim is the shooter.

Mass killings in our country - those including two or more victims - though horrific, are a small number compared to the overall numbers.  More than 10 teens are murdered or commit suicide every day - EVERY DAY.

Auto accidents, homicides and suicides are preventable occurrences.

Wake up folks!  We need to dig deeper than guns.  Stricter laws concerning weapon manufacture and distribution will help - but not cure the big problems.
