WEEKEND LITURGY

2 CHRONICLES 36     PSALM 137      EPHESIANS 2     JOHN 3:14-21

All the readings on this fourth Sunday of Lent have to do with doing the right thing.  That's simple enough.  A typical Lenten message.

Of course, my favorite John 3:16 is included. This week we have the continuation of that thought enumerating just why God sent His son.  The answer, in so many words, is -  not to condemn the world but to save it.   With Jesus comes the light.  Evil lives in the darkness.

The thief never turns on the light for everyone to see what he is doing.  Murder is committed in the darkness.  The sinner avoids the light.

So walk in the light.  Use the light as your indication that you are doing the right thing.  Your secrets are stored in the darkness.  Bring all you do into the light.
