WEEKEND LITURGY

"My Lord and My God."  These were the words of the Apostle Thomas when he first saw Jesus after the Resurrection.  Previously, he had doubted the stories of the other Apostles about Jesus walking among them.  When He saw Jesus, he believed and made that act of faith.

Thomas went on to preach the Good News that Jesus taught him in far off lands.  He traveled all the way to what we now call India and maybe further.  He spent the rest of his life there as a missionary of Christ.  He was martyred there on St. Thomas Mount and his remains are entombed nearby in San Thome Basilica.

Thomas is an "everyman".  Would we have believed that Jesus had risen from the dead?  I don't think so.  Do you believe it now?  Do you?
