RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

MAY 28

Today is Memorial Day.  A day to remember the Americans who have died in military service to their country as a result of war.  Traditionally a day to decorate their graves.

Did you ever wonder just how many people we are remembering?  Starting with the American Civil War through our recent and current conflicts in the Middle East,  about 1,250,000 service members have died in military conflict.  One and a quarter million - mostly young men - what good they could have done had it not been for war.

Now think of all those who mourn them.  Be conscious that this is a very sad day for many people.  This is more than the first day of Summer for them.
