CINCINNATI

The first Cincinnati professional hockey team was the Mohawks.  The Cincinnati Mohawks were a team of the American Hockey League from 1949 thru 1952.  They transferred to the International Hockey league at that point until they were disbanded in 1958.  The Mohawks played their home games in the newly constructed Cincinnati Gardens.  Of course, I lived within walking distance of the Gardens.  I actually saw a few games.

Hockey left the city for 13 years when the Cincinnati Swords were established.  Today, we have the Cyclones who play in the ECHL at U.S. Bank Arena.
