One of the really interesting neighborhoods in Cincinnati is called Sedamsville. It was named after a Revolutionary War Colonel, Cornelius Sedam, who settled there after the war. He came to the area to help build Fort Washington.
The neighborhood sits right along the Ohio River to the west of the city center. It lays at the foot of Price Hill and next to Riverside and Sayler Park. It was once a business hub but the great flood and time have whittled it down to what one would call a 'lazy river community'. It sits on US Route 50 and the extensive railroad lines that run parallel to it.
Sedamsville has given Cincinnati Major League Baseball's Hit King, Pete Rose, and a rectory that is listed as one of the most haunted places in the USA. At the time of the 2010 census, 680 people called it home.
