WHAT'S IN A NAME

The Irish Gaelic name from which my name (Lysaght) is derived is Mac Giolla Iasachta.

This is how it breaks down.

Iasachta is the Irish Gaelic word for stranger, foreigner or something loaned.
Giolla is the Irish Gaelic word for youth, boy or fellow.
Mac is the Irish Gaelic word for big.  This is how my friend Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonald's, got the name for his trademark sandwich.  It was the new Big Boy.

(Parts of this blog are true.)
