INTERFAITH WISDOM

Hinduism is the world's oldest religion.  It has more than a billion adherents.  Based in India, it is both a religion and a way of life.

Here is a work - a prayer - by Pattinathar, a 10th century Hindu poet and saint.  Once wealthy and married, he gave away all his worldly possessions to help others.  These words, I feel, would stand well for any religion.

Let me not wander in vain.
Let me not labor in vain.
Let me not mingle with the prejudiced.
Let me not leave the company of the virtuous.
Let me not fly into anger.
Let me not stray off the path of goodness.
Let me not seek for this day or the morrow.
Give me such a wealth, O Almighty.
