THINGS I HEARD THIS WEEK

• Based on 2017 tax returns for the 2016 income year: 

              The top 1,409 taxpayers paid more taxes than the bottom 70 million wage earners. 
              The top 50% of wage earners paid 97% of all taxes collected. 

• When you tell someone you don't have time to do something that they requested, you are actually saying that what you plan on doing is a higher priority to you than what they asked.  

              . . . or your spouse has threatened you. 

• From the perspective of the Sun, all planets in our solar system orbit counterclockwise.  On their own axis, each planet rotates counterclockwise except Venus and Uranus.  On Venus the Sun rises in the West and sets in the East.  Uranus is tilted so that the Sun rises in the South and sets in the North.  Well, that's our North and South - the Uranians may look at it differently.
