Gamaliel was a first century Jewish rabbi who taught the law to Paul, the Apostle. He is mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles as a man esteemed by the Jews who advised them not to condemn the Apostles of Jesus. In the Jewish Talmud, he is noted as the President of the Great Sanhedrin in Jerusalem. He is remembered as one of the great teachers of Jewish Law.
