On this date in 1985, a diverse group of musical artists collaborated as a group they called USA for Africa to make a recording of an original song called We are the World. It was sold to raise money to fight a famine in Ethiopia. It was truly a hit; a grand success ($63M raised). I have always loved it. Watch and listen.
