This week at Catholic mass we will hear Luke's Gospel passage about Jesus teaching his disciples how to pray, the importance of persistence in prayer and the value of prayer. If you don't do anything else, PRAY.
Today, let's look at the "how". The prayer he gave them was of course, what we call the Lord's Prayer or the Our Father. Use it as an outline to your personal prayer.
First, address God as your father. He made you. Second, before anything else, praise Him. Third, affirm that your goal is to be with Him. Fourth, make your plea for what you need (not want). Fifth, promise to treat all others properly. Sixth, admit that you sin and ask for help to avoid sins in the future.
Amen!
