THE WORD THIS WEEKEND

This weekend at Catholic mass you will hear some ominous news for the rich and, no matter how poor you feel you are, in this country - you are rich.  The words to the rich speak for themselves - you will hear them.  Here are other selected quotations from this weeks readings that struck me.

"Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen."   Words from Paul's letter to the Hebrews.

"You also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come."  Words from Luke's gospel.

"Blessed the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he has chosen for his own inheritance."  Words from Psalm 33.

Being rich is not wrong, just dangerous.  Keep everything in the proper perspective.  Keep first things first.
