On this date in 1947, the first case of a computer bug was reported. It happened at Harvard University where a moth got stuck in a relay of their Mark II computer. Bugs have been bugging computers ever since.
Besides a computer problem, a bug can be an insect; a hidden listening device; a sickness; an enthusiast; a sudden enthusiasm; an unexpected flaw; the act of bothering someone; a Volkswagen; a small person; a descriptive of eyes; and maybe a whacked out person.
All of the computer bugs we find these days are in the software - and they are man-made. I'm so glad they are called bugs - no one likes bugs except an entomologist. Don't be one of those.
