The 'meter' is the base unit of length in the International System of Units.  You know that it is a little longer than a yard.  It is technically defined as the distance light travels in a vacuum in 1/299,792,458th of a second.   Ah . . .  why?

All humans have 24 ribs - 12 on each side.  All ribs attach one each to the 12 thoracic vertebrae.  Only nine on each side attach to the sternum in front by way of seven cartilages.  Did you think girls had one more than men?  They don't.  So, why do girls throw a ball "like a girl"?

There once was a tree growing in Niger, Africa. An Acacia, it was known as the Tree of Te'ne're'. Located in the Sahara Desert, it was the only tree within 250 miles. Well, in 1973, a drunk driver ran into it, knocked it down and killed it.  No water to dilute his scotch, I suppose.
