NOVEMBER

Where has the Summer gone?  November sounds so 'end of the year-like'.  Before you can say holidays, Thanksgiving will be here and Christmas right behind that.  I'm sure children still feel time moves too slowly but I'm not a kid any more.  Time is a-flyin'.  Tempus fugit.

You've heard of the adage "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb".   Well, you can turn that upside down for November.  The s-word is just about ready to hit the fan; Snow, that is.

The Indians - Native Americans, that is - always had a dash of Summer to break up the bitter Autumn.  That sounds like a good idea to me.  How did they do that?

Wait a minute:  aren't I a native American?  How long do you have to live here before you're 'native'?  Of course, anyone born in America is a Native American.  That's what 'native' means - 'born there'.

With that in mind, I say we should have an Native American Summer this November.  I'd like to get in a few more rounds of golf.
