RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

CINCINNATI

A friend reminded me the other day how rudely I left you hanging last Sunday with the story about two Cincinnatians who made Forbes 30 under 30 list of top marketing and advertising professionals for 2020.  My story only told of one - Ryan Thomas.  So sorry!

The other of those two is a guy named Erik Zamudio.  He is a native of the area who attended Milford High School and then went to the University of Cincinnati (2014 grad).  He co-founded a company called Fooji which they based in Lexington, KY.  He evidently still lives here in the city but is on the move much of the time traveling from coast to coast to work with customers.

Fooji is a business to business firm that promotes brands through social media.  They have made the emoji real - and not just for millennials.  You sell widgets?  Fooji will make social media work for you.  They will devise promotions, giveaways, and sweepstakes for your product.  The intent is to reinforce base advertising and to keep the brand alive in your mind for a greater length of time.  Their client list includes T-Mobile, HBO, Lay's, Tums, Disney, Netflix - they have hit the big-time.

The next time you hear foo-gee - don't think about film or a mountain in Japan - think Erik Zamudio - think Cincinnati.
