It is more than a rumor that our country's educational system has problems and might need an overhaul. I always thought that the problems were in primary and secondary education. Now, I'm convinced the problems have permeated higher education. What has happened in our colleges and universities?
Here is my evidence.
The Big 10 Conference includes 14 schools.
The Big 12 Conference includes 10 schools.
The Big East Conference includes schools in Illinois, Wisconsin and Nebraska.
The Atlantic Coast Conference includes schools in Indiana and Kentucky.
The Southeastern Conference includes schools in Kentucky and Missouri.
It seems obvious to me that somebody needs to tighten up on their math and geography requirements. This is disgraceful.
