MIDWEEK PRAYER

My take on the Memorare follows.  The basic prayer has been used in the Catholic church for a long time.  The word Memorare means "remember" and is the Latin word which was originally used to begin the prayer.  It is directed to Mary the mother of Jesus.

"Remember, O most gracious virgin Mary, that never was it known, than anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided.  Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you, Oh virgin of virgins my mother; to you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.  Oh mother of Jesus the word incarnate, despise not my petitions but intercede for me with your Son; present my prayer to Him that my family and friends may be protected, both body and soul, in this time of distress."  Amen
