In early 1975, near the end of the Vietnam War, we airlifted some 3,300 Vietnamese orphans to the U.S., Australia, France, Germany and Canada.  We called it Operation Babylift.  As Saigon was falling to the North Vietnamese, some 110,000 refugees were also evacuated.

Words without vowels:  Strange looking, aren't they?  Here's one you can find in Merriam-Webster's dictionary:  crwth.  It is pronounced "krooth" and is defined as an ancient celtic stringed musical instrument which could be plucked or bowed.

The United States has three (3) hospital beds for every 1,000 people.  That is usually enough.  If everybody gets sick, we would have to put 333 people in each bed and put one on the floor.

Male lizards have two penes.  Does that look right to you?  I mean the spelling.  M-W says the plural of penis could be penises or penes.  Neither sound good to my ear.  Of course, the fact doesn't sound right to me either.

When the English were first exploring Australia in the 19th century, they asked their aborigine guide what those hopping creatures, they saw everywhere, were called.  The aborigine told them kangaroo.  And so we have their name, which, they later found, in aborigine means "I don't understand your question."
