RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

THE WORD THIS WEEKEND

This weekend at Catholic mass you will hear Matthew's account of the Passion of the Lord.  It's all there; the Passover Supper, the institution of the Eucharist, the Agony in the Garden, Judas' betrayal, the Scourging at the Pillar, the Crowning with Thorns, the Carrying of the Cross, the Crucifixion and Death of Jesus and His burial in a cave-like tomb sealed with a boulder.

I hope you all know the facts and feel the depth of the season.  This is what Christian religion is all about.  You need nothing else from me.  So this week, I want to RANT.

It is incongruous to me that we are allowed to go to Kroger or Costco to buy bread and beer but cannot go to Church to receive the body and blood of Jesus.  How can this be?   How can we put up with this?  There must be a way - - I'm sure there is a way.  This is ridiculous!  Liquor stores and abortion mills are open, folks.  Our Constitution says that the government "shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;".  That's the reason many came to this country.  God help us.
