This weekend at Catholic mass you will hear the short story of how Mary of Magdala went to Jesus tomb on Sunday morning and found the stone rolled away from the entrance. She notified Peter and John who ran there and found Jesus' body gone - only the burial wrapping remained.
They really didn't know that Jesus was going to rise from the dead. He had given them many hints but rising from the dead seemed out of the question - it was unheard of.
But yet, He must have risen. If someone had stolen his body, they would not have removed the burial wrapping. The third day would have brought stench. Who would carry a tortured, crucified body without covering?
Now, Peter and John believed. They were afraid they'd be next to get murdered but they believed that Jesus was what they thought He was.
It's okay to be afraid. It's normal to have doubts. Don't let those things keep you from believing. Keep working at it.
