SECRETS

I'm putting Cincinnati Sundays on the back burner.  Today, your going to hear secrets.  Everybody loves to hear secrets.  Of course, if you hear them they should no longer be called secrets.  Whatever!  The only real secrets are the ones you have and have never told another person.

Mine are embarrassing moments...mostly because I opened my big mouth when I should not have.  I'll never tell those secrets.   I humiliate myself often enough in daily discourse.

So . . . I guess there are really no secrets.  Here are a few things these people might hope you didn't know.  Maybe you never wanted to know them.  Just the same, here goes.

  1. In the very first Star Wars film, Darth Vader was portrayed by David Prowse and voiced by James Earl Jones.  The character only had 12 minutes of screen time.
  2. Gary Lineker is a former English football (soccer) player - one of the greatest strikers of all time - and now a sportscaster.  He played in the 1990 World Cup for the English National Team and, during a World Cup game, . . . he pooped his pants and kept playing.
  3. I guess its no secret but Buzz Aldrin was the first person to pee on the moon.  He admitted it and I'm sure he's telling the truth.
  4. In 2008, King Harold V of Norway knighted someone named Sir Nils Olav . . . a penguin from the zoo in Scotland.
  5. Among the objects humans have sent into space are pictures of human sex organs, sea urchin sperm, a pizza and the remains of the guy who discovered Pluto.
  6. Brad Pitt's first acting job was playing a giant chicken at the El Pollo Loco restaurant.
  7. The Stanley Cup is the championship trophy of the NHL professional hockey league.  Winner's names and players' names are engraved on it for posterity.  Engravings include BQSTQN BRUINS and TORONTO MAPLE LEAES and several misspelled players names.
  8. President John Adams had a dog in the White House that he named "Satan".  Bad dog!
  9. Speaking of Satan; Pope Gregory IX believed that black cats were tied to the devil.
  10. Catherine the Great, Empress of Russia in the 18th century, kept a room filled with erotic furniture which included carvings of human sex organs.

So now I suppose your little secrets are not so spectacular, are they?
Have a great Sunday.  😊
