THIS N THAT

Those big, long legged, flying insects we've been seeing for the last two weeks in SW Ohio are not mosquitos but crane flies.  They are harmless and have only a two week life span they use for breeding; much like the mayflies we see in June.

The US Military Academy (Army) has already accepted a football bowl invitation this year.  That usually doesn't happen until season's end.  Their only-once-defeated football team (UC) will face a west coast team in the Independence Bowl.

Bryson DeChambeau, professional golfer extraordinaire, claims he has driven a ball 403.1 yards in the air during practice for The Masters upcoming in November.  No one has ever done that.  His scientific approach is challenging the limits of the game and the great courses on which it is played.

We have 10 species of bats in Ohio.  Most of those are insect eaters - helping keep down the population of those pests.  There are over 1,400 species of them in the world.  Only rodents are a mammal with a greater population than bats.

It is estimated that 1/3 of all the people in the world cannot snap their fingers.  Are you one of them?
