CINCINNATI

The famed Masters golf tournament, due to the pandemic, is being played this weekend.  It is normally played in April.  Here is a reprint of my entry made last year for the tournament.

CINCINANTI

Golf fans, their spouses, children, friends and co-workers, and all those not comatose are probably aware that The Masters Golf Tournament is going on in Augusta, Georgia this weekend.  It is one of professional golfing's major tournaments.  It is limited to just the very best of the best golfers. Win it and you have the adjective, "Master's Champion," placed in front of your name for the rest of your life.

In addition to winning millions of dollars, the winner is awarded a specially-made green sports coat.  The owners of these coats, besides being the best golfers in the world, are in a small class by themselves.  Each year they come back, don their jackets and dine together in splendor.  It is a very special club.  They walk with honor on the beautiful grounds of Augusta National Golf Club.

These special green jackets are now and always have been made by a Cincinnati firm.  The honor goes to the Hamilton Tailoring Company located in the East Walnut Hills neighborhood.  All specifications concerning cut, length, materials, buttons, emblem, etc. are fixed for this purpose.  It is our little part of The Masters.
