THE WORD THIS WEEKEND

This weekend at Catholic mass we will celebrate the first Sunday of Advent.  This is the time of preparation for the coming of Christ. We know He is coming in our little world on December 25th.  Right?

No!  That's not what it's really about.  We should not be preparing for our celebration of Christmas so much as for the time when Christ comes to take us home - our ultimate home.  That's what we must be prepared for.  We know not when He will come; so we must be in a state of readiness at all times.

Enjoy this Christmas season and prepare for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus the Christ child.  But while you do, be mindful that you must always be prepared.  Use the season as practice.  Test yourself.  Am I prepared?

Peace!  I love you.
