THIS N THAT

You know how small we are compared to the size of the universe . . .big difference.  We are five or six feet from head to foot; the universe is 93 billion light years from end to end.  Well, that's about the same difference between the smallest particle of an atom of which we are aware and us . . . big difference.

Detroit has become the poster child of failed American cities.  It relied too heavily on the unionized American auto industry and was subject to bad management.   Ghost towns date to the beginnings of our country.  These cities built around gold mines, silver mines and oil wells which petered out.  Which American city will be next?   Think coal or gambling or (long term) tech.

A University of Washington study showed that a person living in a large industrial city breathes in as much toxin as an urban farmer/rancher who smokes 20 cigarettes a day.

I think I've learned something in my study of paleontology.  Those long-necked dinosaurs must have lived during the giraffic period.

I've also learned that corneal ulcers are nothing to mess with.  Keratitis hurts.
