I calculate that the average 75 year-old man has eaten about 60 tons of food in his lifetime.  Yes, I consider myself average and, Yes, that does include a half dozen cookies or a jelly donut before bed.  Considering that I've eaten that many tons and I'm only about 60 lbs overweight, I think I've done quite well.
