This Sunday we celebrate Mothers Day in the U.S. Think about your mother. How important she was in your development. Barring tragedy, she was your first teacher. She not only gave you her love, she taught you love. Those early, developmental years are so important; more important than we could ever know.
Some people wonder why anyone would pray to Mary, the mother of Jesus. I wonder why everyone doesn't. She was surely not an accidental woman. She was chosen. Here is our prayer.
The Romans said 'Hail Caesar' when meeting someone; an angel to the young girl said "Hail Mary." Her aunt, on seeing her, said "You are the most blessed of all women and blessed is the child you will bear."
We know that child was Jesus. We ask that she prays for us; intercedes for us with her Son. For whom could have more influence on a person than their mother?
