RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

THE WORD THIS WEEKEND

At Catholic services this weekend, the Trinity will be celebrated.  God is a difficult concept for humans to grasp.  His nature, powers and attributes are beyond human and therefore almost impossible for us to conceive.  We use superlative descriptions but even that is not enough.  Only from the Bible and, there, from the words of His Son can we learn about Him.

Christians and Jews of the world believe in a single God - whatever each calls Him.  But, in the Christian bible, the final chapter of Matthew's gospel, we get an explanation that clears up one question. Before Jesus rose into Heaven after His death, He met with His Apostles, commissioned them saying, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

Three persons!  One God!  We call it the Trinity.  Each with a role in bringing the world to know God.

Have a blessed weekend.  I love you.
