The University of Cincinnati Bearcats host the University of Central Florida at noon tomorrow. It should be an easy win. Vegas has the Bearcats a three touchdown favorite with a high total score. Don't be overwhelmed by the rating people who put the Cats at either #3 or #4 in the country. The people who make the final decision on who will play in the college playoffs are not bound by those polls.
The Cincinnati Bengals travel to Detroit this Sunday for a game with the Lions at 1:00. The Bengals are a 3 point favorite. Our guys are pretty healthy, as pro teams go, and the guys from up North are not. Detroit is winless on the season but have lost several in the last seconds of games. That should not be surprising: most NFL games are close. It is amazing how many go down to the last seconds and one team wins by less than one score.
I sum up the Bengals season this way: they have two wins that they could easily have lost, they have two losses they could easily have won, they have one win which was impressive. I'm hoping for another impressive win.
Here's what I hope to see: an explosive attacking offense. Something is wrong with the way they have been playing on offense. Maybe they are trying to protect Joe B too much - I don't know. I just hope they can figure it out. As for the defense, they have played better than I expected. I hope that continues.
Have a great sports weekend. Sorry to say we are expecting heavy rains during the high school games tonight.
Oh, the FC Cincinnati soccer ballers? They play on Saturday in Orlando but don't expect them to score. It seems to be illegal for them to get better than a tie/draw.
